There are a lot of rumors about how to cause a miscarriage. Some of the most common are go on a horseback ride, vigorous exercise, have sex, or take a hot bath or shower. If you are reading this blog, most likely you’ve already tried a few of these and realize that they have not produced your desired end.

Can we back up for a second and talk about some miscarriage facts? It is estimated that between 20-25% of pregnancies end on their own. 1- Sometimes these miscarriages occur before the woman even knows that she is pregnant. The most common reason for a miscarriage is a chromosomal abnormality with the baby. 2- Other reasons are also beyond a woman’s control and can be devastating for a woman who is wanting to conceive and carry a child.

For women trying to force their body to miscarry, they often will eventually turn to pills to produce a miscarriage. Online abortion pill providers are not to be trusted according to the FDA and before you decide to purchase a $300 prescription there are a few things that you should really consider.

First things first, you have a positive pregnancy test, but…..have you had an ultrasound? There’s a reason why OB doctors rely on ultrasound machines for data- they give insight into what is actually going on inside the women’s uterus! An ultrasound gives a MUCH fuller picture:

  • is this fetus in the uterus or the fallopian tubes (with the rise in STI/STDs ectopic pregnancies are also increasing).

  • is there a heartbeat? It is possible to have a positive pregnancy test and later have an ultrasound that shows there is no heartbeat.

  • how far along is this pregnancy? We women can be “off” in tracking our cycles. An ultrasound will take measurement

s and give a more accurate picture about this pregnancy.

  • is there only 1 fetus? It is not uncommon to carry twins.

Knowledge will equip you to make a better decision about how to proceed with your pregnancy. Don’t let abortion providers charge you for a service you might not need. We offer FREE pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, as well as STI/STD testing from licensed, experienced medical professionals. Call us today, or chat with a nurse now to make an appointment and be better equipped to make an informed choice.
